Paris

, Victor Hugo refers to le Faubourg Saint Antoine as “a hero.” From its beginnings, the 11th arrondissement was a working-class area where people lived and worked. It benefited from a special privilege granted by the French monarchy, allowing small businesses to grow without tax burdens. From the 15th century, the neighborhood became a magnet for artisans and tradespeople. It also became a center of political uprisings, from the 1848 revolution to the Paris Commune of 1871, when barricades lined the streets.

Today, the 11th is a mix of old North African bakeries and newer cafés, restaurants, and bars. Rue Oberkampf is packed with nightlife, and Belleville retains much of its signature neon lighting. The Canal Saint-Martin, once covered to prevent disease, is now an open air park. Hidden cultural spaces like La Générale, No Tax, and Treize keep up the neighbourhood’s tradition of artist run initiatives, and tucked-away passages like Cité Durmar and Passage Lhomme offer a glimpse of Paris before its Haussmann reconstruction.

HOME0001’s first Paris location is set in a converted garage in the 11th arrondissement. Situated in a passageway just off Rue Amelot, it is around the corner from the legendary Dong Huong Vietnamese Restaurant, La Java music hall and Treize Gallery. Metro stations Oberkampf, Filles du Calvaire, and Bastille make getting around the city simple and quick.

Once known as Rock Quarry Hills, the steep canyons of Elysian Park used to be considered undesirable development land. However the dawn of the last century would see Echo Park, home to LA’s first film studios, become the center of the silent film industry.

The surrounding hills began to be sold off to developers to be built up, but a successful preservation campaign resulted in the protection of 600 acres of this beautiful, desolate landscape, with 150,000 trees planted in Elysian Park through the 1880s and 90s, including oaks, pines, cypresses, and cedars, all within a few minutes walk of HOME0001.

HOME0001’s townhouses and bungalows are close to both the forests of Elysian Park and the heart of Echo Park on Sunset Boulevard. Down the street from Prado and Taix and many of LA’s coolest bars and restaurants, it’s also just a couple minutes walk to touch grass in the vast Elysian Park. Literally 

Echo Park

London

Sitting adjacent to the bars, independent cinemas, restaurants and market stalls of Chatsworth Road, the building is nestled beside one of London’s largest green spaces. It is also well connected by nearby Clapton and Homerton overground stations, and a host of 24hr buses that can take you from Clapton Pond to anywhere in the city.

Two streets from where Harold Pinter was born, Mildenhall Road is home to Finks and Fika cafes, Jelly Records, The Castle Cinema (an old bingo hall turned indie cinema), and close to the lively shops, bars, and markets of Chatsworth Road. At one end lies Clapton Pond, with the rest of Hackney beyond, while the other end leads to Millfields Park and the River Lea, where painted barges drift through Hackney and Walthamstow marshes. These marshlands connect to the Walthamstow Wetlands and the 2012 Olympic Park, with the Middlesex Filter Beds Nature Reserve sitting in between. Dating back to 1852, these abandoned filtration beds, once used to cleanse drinking water, are now a quiet haven of moss, lichen, and over 200 plant and 60 bird species—a serene slice of nature amidst the urban sprawl.

Hackney

This neighborhood first emerged with the Korean Immigrants in the early 20th century and by the 1970s and 1980s, it had become a cultural hub known for its restaurants, nightlife, and small businesses. Today, the neighborhood blends mom-and-pop eateries, modern cuisine, karaoke lounges, and historic bars such as BCD Tofu House, The Prince, and HMS Bounty. It’s mix of traditional and modern architecture includes landmarks like the Wiltern Theatre, Langer’s Deli, the Korean American National Museum, and the Hanbok Cultural Center, alongside newer spots such as Alchemist Coffee Project, Liu’s Cafe, and gallery-style apartment spaces like The Gaylord and O-Town House.

Set on a quiet street in LA’s Koreatown, one of the city’s most walkable neighborhoods, the home is surrounded by a full range of dining and nightlife options. Adjacent to major public transit routes, HOME0001 Koreatown provides easy access to Downtown, Hollywood, Malibu, and the Inland Empire.

Koreatown

A short walk from Metrograph, Clandestino, Bacaro, Aeon Bookstore, Funny Bar, and of course Dimes, HOME0001’s LES buildings are close to the BDFM, JZ, 4, and 6 trains.

In 1897, the southern part of the Lower East Side around East Broadway was a Jewish neighborhood and famously home to the offices of the Yiddish-language socialist newspaper 

 Over the years, it has also been home to a significant Puerto Rican population and, since the late 1980s, a generation of Chinese immigrants from Fuzhou. Facing social rejection and job discrimination from the residents of the existing (predominantly Cantonese-speaking) Chinatown, West of the Manhattan Bridge, the Fuzhou population instead built a parallel Chinatown in this enclave of the Lower East Side, sometimes known as Little Fuzhou.

In the early 2000s, an influx of influential contemporary art galleries made the LES the emerging epicenter of the New York art world, and soon after, artist-run businesses like the cafe Dimes became iconic, defining that culture among the city’s pitch-deck-industrial-complex. However, starting in the late 2010s, that millennial-hipster culture was in turn subverted by the contrarian subcultures of a new generation. Now, the neighborhood finds itself at the beating heart of New York’s new post-culture war semiotic furnace.

HOME0001’s Lower East Side buildings offer two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio apartments, with roof decks and common spaces that host regular community programming.

Berlin

Just steps away from Victoria Bar, Kumpelnest, Da Jia Le, Ixthys, and Eden Eden, the building offers easy access to anywhere in the city with the U1, U2, U3, U4, and U7 lines.

Originally a village just outside Berlin's gates, Schöneberg joined the city in 1920, its streets filling with elegant stucco façades, Jugendstil balconies, and sequestered courtyards. The name means “village on a beautiful mountain”, which was a deliberate misnomer, a ruse to attract settlers. In the following decades, the neighborhood quietly thrived, attracting writers, painters, and thinkers. The historic red-light district became the world’s first gay village, and since the 1920s the neighborhood has attracted successive generations of radicals, libertines and artists. With a third of its housing stock rebuilt after WWII, the neighborhood has been a petri dish for experiments in housing and urban planning. The result is a distinct social and civic landscape where both failures and successes coalesce into somewhere truly unique.

Schöneberg

Once a patchwork of farms and breweries on the edge of Brooklyn and Queens, Ridgewood grew rapidly at the turn of the twentieth century as waves of German, Italian, and Eastern European immigrants settled among its rows of brick apartment houses. Unlike much of New York, the neighborhood escaped large-scale redevelopment, preserving a remarkably intact urban fabric of stoops, corner taverns, factory buildings, and six-story walk-ups. For decades, Ridgewood remained a working-class enclave, largely overlooked by the city’s cycles of speculation and reinvention. Old-world social infrastructure and contemporary creative life coexist happily.

Ridgewood’s small-town main street surface serves as a thin veil for one of the most layered, dynamic areas of NYC. HOME0001’s Ridgewood location is off the M and L trains, and is walking distance from institutions ranging from the historic German tavern Gottscheer Hall to critically-acclaimed neighborhood restaurants like Cassette and Rolo’s. Later, you can hit clubs like Nowadays, with its 72-hour marathon weekends and the DIY-style venues Trans-Pecos and TV Eye. Newly-emerging spots include Cholita, which serves Ecuadorian pastries in a sleek environment, and the decades-old family-run Albanian social club Amma Café, which was recently opened to the public by the family’s younger members, who host arthouse film screenings late into the night.

Ridgewood

Cultural life here is scattered rather than staged. Silent Green occupies the historic premises of a former crematorium and has become one of Berlin’s most distinctive spaces for concerts, film, performance, and experimental formats. Along the Panke, venues like Panke, Wiesenburg, and the Uferstudios carry another register of the neighborhood: former industrial and infrastructural sites turned into places for music, dance, exhibitions, rehearsals, and late conversations. Around Leopoldplatz, Müllerstraße, Gerichtstraße, and Gesundbrunnen, the rhythm is less curated. A day can move from a Turkish breakfast to a second-hand shop and then to a swim at Plötzensee. The vibes here are rougher, slower and more unresolved, never fully joining the version of Berlin that sells itself too easily.

HOME0001’s Wedding location sits inside one of Berlin’s most stubbornly layered northern neighborhoods. Close access to the U6, S46, S15, Ringbahn, and several bus lines makes Wedding unusually well connected. This part of Berlin always resisted a simple image that some other neighborhoods might have received. Once a working-class district shaped by factories, breweries, hospitals, and dense Mietskasernen, it later became one of West Berlin’s most vital arrival zones, animated by successive waves of newcomers. Unlike Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg, Wedding never fully completed the transformation into a lifestyle surface. Its appeal lies in the remaining friction: cheap bakeries next to natural wine bars, corner Spätis beside project spaces, family restaurants beside studios, and broad traffic arteries giving way to sudden green pockets like Humboldthain, Rehberge, and Plötzensee.

Wedding

In the early 19th century, Peckham Rye was a quiet village surrounded by fields. While the 113-acre Peckham Rye Park still holds onto that tranquility, Rye Lane is now a bustling mix of markets, cafes, restaurants, and shops, reflecting one of the UK’s most ethnically diverse areas.

Nigerian businesses like Lalak Afrique and The Flygerians thrive in “Little Lagos.” Nearby, Khan’s Bargains claims to be Peckham's most famous shop, Peckhamplex offers affordable films, and under the station arches, Hanar serves fantastic Kurdish food. Persepolis, Ganapati, and Avalon Cafe keep things vital, while Copeland Park and the Bussey Building are the area's creative heart. Books-Peckham is an independent book / zine store, and both Flat Time House and the German-Kneipe-style arts and social club SET are just some of the many living testaments to the cultural legacies of the area, which appear dotted about the surrounding quiet and leafy Victorian streets in this buzzing area of south-east London.
