The first step to owning a 0001 home is to join the HOME0001 housing collective

a community with collective access to shared resources, including places to stay around the world, design expertise, and community events. Membership is free of charge and 0001 homes are released exclusively to members of the collective. 

Membership is either by invitation from an existing member or by application here. The application process is designed to be relatively hassle-free and will give you a chance to check out some 0001 homes and meet members of the collective to figure out if it’s right for you.

When you buy an 0001 home, you own the title on your individual home in the traditional way (so you can qualify for a regular mortgage). It's not a timeshare or a rental—it's exactly like owning any other home. We guide you through the purchase process, from choosing the right home, to obtaining financing, to moving in and getting to know your neighbors. Selling directly to our community without expensive brokers’ fees means that we can put everything into creating an extraordinary experience for homebuyers – with access to 0001 homes in other locations and beautifully designed interiors at no additional cost.

From furniture to tableware, linens to toiletries, and pantry essentials to houseplants, each new 0001 home comes fully equipped. Every single thing in an 0001 home is thoughtfully designed with a focus on simplicity and functionality, so homebuyers can move in with nothing but their suitcase.

Each 0001 home is a node in an expanding network. Homeowners get free access to homes in other locations, so you can spend time in other places as often as you like and make your home available to other members of the collective while you’re away. You’ll pay one cleaning fee each time and no nightly rate. Each 0001 home has plenty of secure storage. We take care of the practicalities and keep additional homes in each location for extra flexibility.

You own your home. You're in control. If you don’t want your place to be available to other 0001 homeowners while you’re away, that’s fine—you just won’t be able to make use of other 0001 homes during that time. You’re also free to rent out your home (in accordance with local laws and building rules). And you can sell your home however you like, whenever you like—you own the title. Work with a broker of your choice or use our resale service to simplify the process.

Home0001's community is built on collaboration. From prioritizing new locations and proposing amenities and features, to shaping our events program in each city, members can contribute to the evolution of the collective through discussions both online and over dinner in each of our locations.
