Los Angeles:
Echo Park
HOME0001’s townhouses and bungalows are close to both the forests of Elysian Park and the heart of Echo Park on Sunset Boulevard. Down the street from Prado and Taix and many of LA’s coolest bars and restaurants, it’s also just a couple minutes walk to touch grass in the vast Elysian Park. Literally the perfect location.
Once known as Rock Quarry Hills, the steep canyons of Elysian Park used to be considered undesirable development land. However the dawn of the last century would see Echo Park, home to LA’s first film studios, become the center of the silent film industry.
The surrounding hills began to be sold off to developers to be built up, but a successful preservation campaign resulted in the protection of 600 acres of this beautiful, desolate landscape, with 150,000 trees planted in Elysian Park through the 1880s and 90s, including oaks, pines, cypresses, and cedars, all within a few minutes walk of HOME0001.
